Turn One Idea into Ten Pieces of Content with AI

The content multiplication system creators use to publish daily without burning out.

7 min read Published May 2026 Category: Content

One YouTube video → one blog post → 7 TikToks → 3 LinkedIn posts → 1 newsletter section. That's the math I run every week. It used to take me a full day of editing per video. Now I record once and the pipeline ships content across the week with maybe an hour of cleanup.

The trick isn't a magic AI tool. It's a workflow, record once, transcribe, then use AI to adapt the same idea to each platform's format. The AI isn't writing your content. You are. The AI is doing the reformatting.

Here's the exact pipeline I use, including the prompts and the order of operations.

The 'one recording, ten outputs' principle

The reason most creators burn out is they treat each platform as a separate creative project. New idea for Twitter, new idea for TikTok, new idea for the newsletter. That's writing ten things a week, exhausting and impossible to keep up.

Reframe: you have one idea per week. The platforms are distribution channels for that idea. AI handles the translation between formats.

Outsource the formatting, not the thinking. The thinking is the thing you uniquely bring.

The pipeline, step by step

  1. Record one piece of source content, a 10-30 minute YouTube video, a podcast episode, a long-form blog draft. This is the only thing you actually have to create.
  2. Transcribe it, Descript, Riverside, or a built-in YouTube transcript work fine. You need clean text.
  3. Run the transcript through a master prompt, extracts the core idea, the top 5 quotable moments, and the audience for each platform.
  4. Generate platform-specific drafts, separate prompts for blog, newsletter, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, TikTok script, Instagram caption.
  5. Edit lightly, schedule everything, drop into a content calendar or scheduler.

The master extraction prompt

Run this first, with your full transcript pasted in. The output is the raw material for every other prompt.

Step 1 · Extract the core
You are a content strategist for a creator focused on practical AI for small business owners.

Below is a transcript of a video I recorded. Extract:

1. The ONE main idea (one sentence)
2. The 3-5 supporting points
3. The 5 most quotable moments (verbatim, even if rough)
4. The intended audience (be specific, not "people who use AI" but "solo business owners using AI to handle customer service")
5. A 1-sentence hook that would work for short-form video (under 12 words, makes someone want to keep watching)

Keep this output open, you'll feed pieces of it into every subsequent prompt.

Platform-specific prompts

Blog post (long-form, SEO)

Blog draft prompt
Using the core idea, supporting points, and audience from above, write an 800-1,200 word blog post.

Constraints:
- Headline + subhead at top
- 4-5 H2 sections
- Plain language. No jargon. No "leveraging" anything.
- Include 1 specific example or anecdote from the transcript
- End with one actionable takeaway

Voice: warm, direct, slightly self-deprecating. I'm a practitioner sharing what I learned, not an expert lecturing.

LinkedIn post

LinkedIn draft prompt
Take the main idea and write a LinkedIn post.

Constraints:
- Hook in the first line, punchy, surprising, or a strong opinion
- 150-220 words total
- Short paragraphs (1-3 sentences each)
- One specific concrete example
- End with a question to invite comments
- No emojis. No "Thoughts? 👇". No "Agree? Disagree?"

TikTok / Reels script

Short-form script prompt
Take 3 of the quotable moments from above and write 3 separate 30-60 second scripts.

Format for each:
- Hook (first 3 seconds, visual cue + spoken line)
- Body (the point, 1-2 supporting beats)
- CTA (subtle, "follow for more" is fine but don't be salesy)

Tone: conversational, like I'm talking to one person, not lecturing.

Newsletter section

Newsletter section prompt
Write a 250-400 word newsletter section that introduces this idea to a subscriber list of small business owners and solo creators.

Constraints:
- Personal opener (1-2 sentences, not "Hello everyone")
- The idea, framed for someone running their own business
- One specific example
- A "try this week" actionable suggestion
- No headers or bullets, flowing prose

Instagram caption

Instagram caption prompt
Write an Instagram caption for a carousel post on this topic.

Constraints:
- 6 slides, give me titles and 1-2 line content for each slide
- Caption: hook line, 80-120 words total, ends with a question
- 4-6 relevant hashtags (specific niche, not generic mass hashtags)

The three mistakes that flatten AI-repurposed content

1. Skipping the extraction step

If you go straight from transcript to platform draft, you'll get a flatter, more compressed version of the original. The extraction step forces the model to identify the idea separately from the words, which lets it then re-express the idea in the platform's voice.

2. Writing platform-agnostic prompts

Every platform has its own physics. LinkedIn rewards opinion takes. TikTok rewards a hook. Twitter rewards brevity. If your prompt doesn't specify the platform's quirks, you'll get a homogenized middle-of-the-road draft that fits nowhere.

3. Not editing the output

AI drafts are starting points, not finished work. The repurposing pipeline saves you time on the structural work, outlining, formatting, adapting to length. It does not save you on voice. The last 10-15%, editing for tone, cutting AI-tells like 'It's worth noting that…', is still you.

Automate it once you've run it manually for 4 weeks

Don't automate on week one. Run the full pipeline manually for at least four weeks. You'll discover where the prompts need tuning, what your real voice sounds like in each format, and which outputs you actually use.

Then, in n8n or Make.com, build a workflow that:

  • Watches for a new YouTube upload (or a new file in Google Drive)
  • Pulls the transcript
  • Runs the extraction prompt
  • Generates each platform draft and drops them as Notion cards (or rows in a Google Sheet)
  • Notifies you in Slack/email when ready to review

You review and post. Total time from recording to fully-scheduled week: 60 minutes.

Key takeaways

  • Outsource the formatting, not the thinking. You bring the idea; AI translates it across platforms.
  • Always run the extraction step first. Don't go straight from transcript to platform drafts.
  • Each platform needs its own prompt with its own constraints, generic prompts produce generic content.
  • Editing the output is still your job. The last 15% is what makes it sound like you, not AI.
  • Run it manually for 4 weeks before automating. You can't automate a workflow you haven't lived inside.
